Assessment of the relative receiver frequency offset in terrestrial digital television systems

Abstract

The problem of receiver frequency adjustment to the central radio channel is considerable in the modern digital television systems using OFDM modulation. The frequency offset value calculation algorithm based on the deformation of the DVB-T signal constellation is proposed in the article.

Formation of the distribution of probabilitites of separate messages occurrence when using statistical source coding

Abstract

The questions related to the possibility of forming the distribution of probabilities of separate messages occurrence when using statistical source coding in order to increase the efficiency of coding are being considered. Further, formation of probability distribution, for brevity, will be named a change of messages statistics.

Methods to improve performance of special purpose wireless mesh-networks

Abstract

Currently, the most common wireless technologies, which is commonly used to transfer considerable quantity of various traffic, is a wireless LANs standard, IEEE 802.11. The mesh-networks described in standard IEEE 802.11s became one of the most perspective directions of the Wi-Fi technology development. The possibility of applying this standard for Special Forces and the work of some well-known algorithms for channel assignments in networks of IEEE 802.11s is considered

Power aspects of audio information devices

Abstract

Different problems of user’s radio_electronic terminal devices power consumption were considered in the publication. Their total share in general household energy consumption has exceeded fifteen percent and keeps going up. Forecasts of the International energy agency (IEA) and the review of technology of energy consumption reduction “Least Life-cycle Cost” (LLCC) are presented. Possible ways of the answering machines terminal equipment energy consumption reduction are shown as an example. Power efficiency of the methods and the estimation of a speech transmission quality in answering machines were investigated. Ways of energy consumption reduction are divided into two groups one of which does not cause listening difficulty of the information by subscribers and another does.

The world wide clear trend from traditional toll collection towards open road tolling systems

Abstract

As announced Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov, Russia wants to make its highways to tollable. For trucks above twelve tons of a road user fee will be required. The Economics Ministry expects some 1.5 billion euro revenue. It stated that the Transport Ministry has already prepared a tender for the establishment of a toll collection system. The system is to monitor the movements of the truck, to ensure later an accurate collection and billing of the toll.

Tasks of image recognition of subsurface radar device based on mobile road laboratory

Abstract

In this paper algorithms for subsurface radar data processing based on the GPR OKO2. In an analysis of the standard software GeoScan32 revealed a number of disadvantages. In this regard, developed a process chain, which allows with required frequency simultaneously obtain a digital image of a fragment of the pavement, GPS-coordinates and GPR signal OKO2 from the antenna. The developed software includes a set of programs GeoControl, allowing to correctly bind GPS-coordinates to the profile measurements, to recover the layers of pavement on the basis of these measurements, and in automatic regime to identify areas of non-uniform profile. Thus, in real time according to the established regime running the laptop generates information about pavement canvas of different nature, which continue to be used for statistical analysis and automatic recognition.

Mathematical model for performance evaluation of physical security system

Abstract

The current state of high-security objects safeguarding problem is governed by variety of factors, including application of technical safety systems. On the other hand efficiency of such systems is often determined based on expert opinions rather than precise analysis. In this paper we present a mathematical model of physical security system, which can be used to estimate intruder detection probability and possibility of suppressing his actions. This model enables one to perform an objective analysis of the system’s efficiency of solving problems that it is designed to face.
